Hormones are very important substances , produced in the brain and other tissue, and moving around our body, they are responsible for many of our charecteristics...
One of the very important charecteristic hormones shape are our sex attributes: women genetically are xx and the men xy ,indicating that women have double something and men having something that women don't have, that is the small Y chromosone!
Studies indicates that men and women incline, think, act and look differently due to different hormone levels... abnormal increase and decrease in normal hormone levels can cause undesired effects in both men and women. On the other hand, stablity in hormones effect person's stability and vice versa...
question lies can we acheive such stability? is it desirable and when?
and specifically,
how does hormone affect sport? and sport affect hormone?
This is a long scientific journey i will only speak on its landmark, which I can understand...
we must have all of heard about abusive use of hormones in sport, people actually swallow chemicals that act like natural hormones to win!!! but these chemicals are not just considered cheating they are very harmful!!! why???
(( Anabolic steroids are drugs that resemble testosterone, a hormone which is produced in the testes of males and, to a much lesser extent, in the ovaries of females. Testosterone is partially responsible for the developmental changes that occur during puberty and adolescence and is also involved in controlling the rates of buildup and breakdown of the main biochemical components of all tissues, including muscle.
Because testosterone and related drugs affect muscle growth, raising their levels in the blood could help athletes increase muscle size and strength. Athletes who use anabolic steroids also claim that they reduce body fat and recovery time after injury. But the androgenic (masculinising) side-effects – such as increased body hair and a deepening of the voice – are not always desirable, particularly in women. To counteract these side-effects, scientists manufacture steroids that retain their anabolic effects but have a lower androgenic effect (eg, androstenedione and nandrolone).
Androstenedione was used by East German Olympic swimmers and other athletes in the 1970s and 1980s to improve their performances. It was banned by the International Olympic Committee in 1997, but is currently permitted by some other sporting bodies, such as Major League Baseball in the USA. Mark McGuire, who set a baseball home-run record in 1999, has admitted to using androstenedione (as well as the controversial food supplement creatine). Nandrolone was allegedly detected in a urine sample provided by British sprinter and Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie in 1999.
Health risks of anabolic steroids
Medical experts see significant dangers in the use – and particularly the gross over-use – of anabolic steroids. Some of the effects are minor or only last while the drug is being taken; others are more serious and long-term. For example, anabolic steroids can cause high blood pressure, acne, abnormalities in liver function, alterations in the menstrual cycle in women, decline in sperm production and impotence in men, kidney failure and heart disease. They can also make both men and women more agressive. ))
there is also the growth hormone... for more info see

Therefore testosterone, a hormone which is produced in the testes of males and, to a much lesser extent, in the ovaries of females, is needed for a stronger body, th increase of this hormones gives you a deep voice, more hair and a mascular body, it also makes more aggresive...(I'm glad they didn't use the word terrorist!!aggression is a word that usually has a bad impact on those who hear it, however aggression is sometimes very important, to remove injustice and is most adhored and depicting when used to enforce injustice!!!It should be more present in men!!!that's why I always wondered why the queen of sheeba went against her counsels, she was a women who had normal female hormone levels and bright mind!!!)
Anyway, it is believed that hormones wire men and women brain differently, giving them different behavioural patterns!

However steriod hormones are important for the sex roles of both men and women, however it is better that women have less testosterone...
((testosterone (tĕstŏs'tərōn) , principal androgen, or male sex hormone. One of the group of compounds known as anabolic steroids, testosterone is secreted by the testes (see testis) but is also synthesized in small quantities in the ovaries, cortices of the adrenal glands, and placenta, usually from cholesterol. Testosterone is necessary in the fetus for the development of male external genitalia; increased levels of testosterone at puberty are responsible for further growth of male genitalia and for the development and maintenance of male secondary sex characteristics such as facial hair and voice changes. Testosterone also stimulates protein synthesis and accounts for the greater muscular development of the male (see ****bolism). For many years, synthetic steroids similar to testosterone have been used by athletes with the goal of improving performance, although recent medical research has shown that these drugs may have a wide range of harmful side effects.))
I guess that tell us a lot about the different roles and qualifications bothe men and women carry, and different roles they should play and practise!
However
Excersising doesn't create hormones but it helps them circulate more...Hormone actions vary widely, but can include stimulation or inhibition of growth, induction or suppression of apoptosis (programmed cell death), activation or inhibition of the immune system, regulating ****bolism and preparation for a new activity (e.g., fighting, fleeing, mating) or phase of life (e.g., puberty, caring for offspring, menopause). In many cases, one hormone may regulate the production and release of other hormones. Many of the responses to hormone signals can be described as serving to regulate ****bolic activity of an organ or tissue. Hormones also control the reproductive cycle of virtually all multicellular organisms....

Last but not least, after inspecting these evidence I think it is safe to say, that sport (phyical activity, even mental and emotional) effects are being and makes us who we are...However we are something intially, due to the chromosones we carry, chromosones that make us who we are...meddling with the natural balance and traits only causes trouble to mankind, wither male or female (i wonder why they have the "fe" before the male?)... However excersizing with (not against) your natural traits makes us more complete individuals...Although hormones do shape part of who we are, exersicing shapes the other part, making us excel, destroy our bodies, distort or just neglect ourselves... and Allaah knows best
